I have lived in Newtown with my family for more than 20 years and was encouraged by enormously supportive peers to get involved in the community. I want to continue to set an example for all residents to actively participate in our government. Married (husband John Fletcher); four children (Jamison, Jackson, Hudson, and Hayden); and two dogs, Nutmeg and Fergus.
Issues that I feel are important in Newtown:
- Increase funding for Newtown schools
- Expand participation of women and other underrepresented groups in Newtown’s boards and commissions.
- Work to make Newtown affordable for everyone.
- Promoting environmental sustainability and protecting our town’s open spaces.
- Support our small businesses and create opportunities for economic development.
