“Says USA Joined The ‘Dark Side’”

To the Editor:

Welcome to the “Dark Side,” America.

No longer the “good guys,” we are now in a place siding with the previously identified enemy of the USA … Russia. A place where money rules, not Democracy. A place where the image of the United States has forever changed. A place where the United States votes with Russia, North Korea, China, and Belarus in a United Nations resolution. A place where the USAID programs to meet the needs of billions is abruptly eliminated, leaving resulting pain.

A place where Ukraine, a democratic and western aligned country, is attacked by Russia, and loses our vital support for their war effort and their effort to survive the unwanted expansion of Russia into their homes. A place where Russian expansion is supported. A place where a carefully constructed government of the people, by the people and for the people is being disassembled by “chainsaw” management. A place where millions of government workers are jettisoned to pave the way for replacement by only those in full support of the Oligarchy now running the country.

A place where the USA is hanging onto the ledge of democracy by her fingernails, as our current administration steps on one finger at a time in an effort to loosen its grip on democracy. In your gut, do you still feel the same about the USA? We owe it to our history and purpose to see if this place is at all relevant to us, as we welcome comrade Putin into our lives.
