The League of Women Voters of Northern Fairfield County (LWVNFC) is the sponsor of a debate between the candidates for First Selectman, Democrat Bruce Walczak and Republican Jeff Capeci. So SHOW UP Oct. 16 at the high school. Details below in the LWVNFC news release.

NEWTOWN, CT – October 16, 2025 – The League of Women Voters of Northern Fairfield County (LWVNFC), in collaboration with the Newtown Democrat & Republican Town Committees, is thrilled to announce an upcoming debate in preparation for the municipal election in the town of Newtown.

Date: October 16, 2025
Time: 7:30 pm. Doors open to the public at 7 pm.
Venue: Newtown High School Auditorium
This debate will follow the rules established by the League of Women Voters U.S., ensuring a fair and impartial platform for candidates to communicate their messages to the voters.
The LWVNFC is looking forward to providing the community with essential insights into the candidates and their visions for the upcoming municipal election. This effort underscores the importance of community engagement and education in the democratic process.
We invite the public to participate by coming early to submit their questions in person.
