……. and yet another endorsement for Michelle Embree Ku!!This endorsement is meaningful to me as a former BOE chair. I was proud to work with our teachers union on school climate and culture, safety and security, and public school HVAC funding.
I am proudly committed to standing with working people and fighting for policies that uplift working families in Connecticut and, in turn, the communities they serve. I will continue to be a strong partner and advocate for education, healthcare, and public services members.
Ku Is For You Trusted by the community. Ready to lead with fresh urgency. Focused on practical results.
Michelle Embree Ku for CT State Representative District 106. She’s the neighbor who’s been doing the work quietly for years, and now she’s bringing that same steady judgment to a new era of leadership.

So much energy and enthusiasm at Congresswoman Jahana Hayes’ campaign kick off party!! Everyone is all in because as the Congresswoman emphasizes “no one gets left behind.”
In the Bee — this, from our chair, all in as ever.
All In For Hayes, Blanchard, Ku, Kerton And Lamont In November
To The Editor:
The low turnout we recently witnessed in Connecticut’s primary should concern all of us — not because every voter has to support the same candidate or political party, but because participation in our democracy matters.
There is a lot at stake nationally as well as with who represents us in Hartford after the midterms.
Elections give us an opportunity have our voices heard and it is a wasted opportunity when only a small percentage of eligible voters participate and end up making decisions that affect all of us.
Democrats have excellent candidates who will do a great job representing us: Jahana Hayes for the 5th Congressional District; Rob Blanchard, who is ready for the open seat in the 28th State Senate District; and Michelle Embree Ku and Julie Kerton for the 106th and 107th House Districts respectively. Last but not least, Ned Lamont for Governor.
All candidates have been reaching out to voters via door knocking and by making phone calls. But we need more engagement and in order to educate the electorate as to why these candidates should represent us — we need to spread the word. Talk to your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Remind people that their vote matters and encourage them to learn about the candidates and issues before Election Day.
Democracy works best when people participate. Whether you vote by absentee ballot, vote early, or show up at the polls on Election Day, make a plan and make your voice heard.
Spread the word. And most importantly, show up in November! Every vote counts.
Thank you, Sue. Great letter. Michelle and Rob will truly represent ALL of Newtown.
Vote For Michelle Embree Ku and Rob Blanchard This November Aug 06, 2026 4:37 pm
To The Editor:
Come this November 3rd, we will all have a much-needed opportunity to speak up — to say who we want to represent us: our beliefs, our needs, our hopes, our values. Think seriously about this. Who you vote for reflects the issues you care about and how you want your tax dollars to be spent. Voting is the primary language of a democracy, a language we still have despite recent desperate attempts to take it away from us.
Use this language and vote. Vote for what you want for yourself, your family, society. I want those who represent me in Hartford to not only care about how the soaring price of gas and groceries are adversely affecting my pocketbook but to prove they care through their past voting records. I want them to have real and varied government experience at many levels. I want them to have real scientific facts to back up their positions. I want them to not only care about keeping Newtown environmentally safe and green but have viable plans to do so. I want them to care about a woman’s right to choose and have a voting record to support this. Finally, I want them to help stop the epidemic of mass shootings by supporting gun safety legislation.
There are two politicians who are running to represent my districts in Hartford this November who meet these criteria: Michelle Embree Ku, as State Representative; and Rob Blanchard, as State Senator. We need change, more than ever now, and I know they will deliver.
Please join me in voting for Michelle and Rob this November.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman at the age of 80. A trailblazer and dedicated public servant, Nancy devoted decades to Connecticut and its people, serving with warmth, determination, and compassion. Her legacy of service will endure. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
If you care about education, keep this in mind when you vote on November 3. VOTE Jahana Hayes for Congress.

Every teacher, parent, educator and advocate should be terrified by this. I don’t expect every candidate to know everything about education policy, but at the very least you should be familiar with IDEA, the federal law that ensures free appropriate public education and specialized early intervention and special education services to children with disabilities across the United States.- Especially at a time when this administration is attacking education services for students who need it most. But when your entire platform is protecting the Trump agenda- this is a what you get. Another reason we need teachers in Congress. #TeamHayes26
