My wife Nancy and I have lived in Newtown for 23 years raising our family here. I came here every summer as a child to Camp Wipawaug (now Cullens Youth Assoc.). My favorite thing about Newtown is its rural character.
As a Police Commissioner I will
- Continue to support a nonpartisan approach to the Police Commission that has served our Town well.
- Support traffic safety, including proper markings for our roads
- Pass and promote police regulations supporting best practices for our police department
- Hire and promote qualified officer candidates who demonstrate commitment to the Town, our citizens and upholding our laws and protection of our citizens
- Support and strengthen Newtown’s schools and Town communities through education, mentorship, and police awareness programs.
- Continue to work with our police department to ensure high quality criminal investigations, including child abuse.
Experience
- State Prosecutor with over 38 years of experience supporting crime victims and working with area police departments to ensure the safety of citizens and the availability of criminal justice programs to those willing to take advantage of them.
- I am particularly proud of my work with child abuse victims and training police officers investigating these cases.
