David Rosen

Education

  • BA Cornell University.
  • MBA Yale University School of Management
  • MPH Yale University School of Public Health
  • My wife, Joanna, a psychologist in town, and I have lived in Newtown for nearly 20 years; we have raised 3 children here.
  • My children have been very active in town sports, and I am an avid (but slow) trial runner who takes advantage of Newtown’s many open spaces.
  • My favorite thing about Newtown is our strong sense of community and the personal connection between people.

Issues that I feel are important to Newtown:

  • Ensuring measured development that allows for Newtown to grow while preserving the characteristics that make Newtown a great place to live.
  • Making sure the new Plan of Conservation and Development receives key input from constituents and outlines a strong plan that encourages steps that allow the town to prosper.

Experience

  • I have gained valuable experience over the past six years as a Planning and Zoning alternate.
  • I have worked closely and cooperatively with members of both parties, and I have shunned partisan politics and put the town first because I care about its future.
