A letter to EVERYONE from the Connecticut state Democratic Party:
The damage from Trump’s dangerous agenda is unfolding before our eyes, and it’s hard to know what to do or where to start. I know I can’t rest these days, and if you can’t either, join us in engaging in some of these action items below. (And if you can rest, can you tell me your secret?)

We’ve put together a guide to help you get involved in ways that might make sense for you. This list isn’t exhaustive, so many groups are organizing across the state, but it’s a great place to start.
- Work Within the Democratic Party – Join one of our 10 constituent caucuses HERE, get involved with your local Democratic Town Committee (DTC) HERE, or attend an event on Mobilize HERE. If you’re 35 or under, join CT Young Democrats or, if you’re a student, CT College Democrats. Thinking about running for office? Contact your DTC to learn more.
- Join a Local Activist Group – Grassroots groups across Connecticut are organizing to defend democracy. Find an Indivisible chapter near you ON THIS LIST (West Hartford, Stamford, Greenwich, Norwich, Shoreline, NWCT, Southeast CT) or connect with groups like 203 Action, Quiet Corner Democrats, Rise Up Mystic, and MORE.
- Support Issue-Based Advocacy – Get involved with Connecticut-based organizations fighting for reproductive rights (Planned Parenthood, Reproductive Equity Now), gun violence prevention (CT Against Gun Violence), LGBTQ+ equality (New Haven Pride Center, Triangle Community Center), refugee support (IRIS, CIRI), helping unhoused individuals (DESK), and climate action (CT Coalition for Climate Action).
- Run for Office or Support Candidates – Consider running for local office or supporting Democrats. Resources like Emerge CT (for women candidates), Emily’s List (for pro-choice women), Latino Victory, Run for Something (for candidates under 40), The Collective (for Black candidates), and MORE RESOURCES can help you take the next step.
- Get Training & Learn More – Take advantage of CT Dems’ free training sessions (check our Mobilize for updates in Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2025) or access national resources from the National Democratic Training Committee, The Campaign School at Yale, and LGBTQ+ Victory Institute.
- Access many more resources HERE.
While congressional checks and balances face challenges, the power of the people remains strong. No matter which format you use to speak your mind, you will be helping push back against egregious assaults on our state, our nation, and our values.
This moment of action is about more than just winning elections. It is about protecting the very foundation and bedrock of our country. Connecticut has the power to be a stronghold for democracy, but it takes all of us.
Are you ready to make a difference? Find a way to take action today.
Sincerely,
Sarah Locke
Executive Director
