The Legislative Council met and made some changes to the budget for the fourth time in an attempt to get a budget passed. Newtowners will be heading to the polls a fifth time this July.

Polls are open today from 6am until 8pm at the middle school. Your vote on the budget is key, turnout is typically low, but no other vote has a more immediate impact on the town. Please come vote!

5th US House of Representatives nominating convention
Ct Dems have gathered in Waterbury tonight to nominate our candidate for the US House of Representatives. Chris Donovon, Elizabeth Esty and Dan Roberti are the three hopefuls vying to win the party nomination. US Senate Convention is underway!
The Newtown DTC delegation has 13 delegates today to nominate the Democratic candidate for the fall election. The Kaiser Hall at CCSU in New Britain is packed with delegates and elected officials. Chris Murphy won easily with 76% of the delegates, but Bysiewicz will be forcing a primary which will be on August 14th.
