Governor Lamont issued a writ on Friday, February 26, 2021, calling for a special election on April 13th, 2021.
Nick Kapoor, who had been elected in Monroe for their Legislative Council and then winning a town wide election for the Board of Education has stepped up to win this seat for Monroe and Newtown.

Not sure if you are in the 112th district? If you live in Monroe, you are. If you live in Newtown near the Monroe border down RT 34, you might be! You can check your voter registration to see.
You will still be able to vote absentee due to the pandemic if you need to do so. You will not be mailed an absentee ballot application for this election and you need to contact the Town Clerk to get started. All the details on that process are posted on the Town Clerks page.
