My family is new to Newtown, having moved here in February. We were quickly introduced to the town through a public kerfuffle regarding a fence, garnering me the unofficial title of “Fence Lady.” But through that experience, there was a large positive. We felt the overwhelming love and support of strangers, our new neighbors. People that we had never met reached out with kind words, messages online, gifts on our doorstep and even pop-by visits to say hello and welcome us to Newtown.
We moved to Newtown because of its charm, wide-open spaces, and stellar schools. What we soon learned is that Newtown is special because of the people. Newtown residents support each other and things are truly “Nicer in Newtown.”
I am running for Legislative Council District 2 because I strongly believe in this mantra and I will work to keep it that way. I want to give back to a community that has offered up its friendship so openly.
A registered nurse for 20 years, I am no stranger to hard work. After a lengthy time in pediatric nursing, I returned to school and obtained my Master’s of Science degree and began a career focusing on patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement. I am dedicated to contributing my perspective and experience to the Legislative Council and continuing their work of ensuring Newtown remains the amazing town I have grown to love.
You have shown me your love and support before and I look for that continued support in the upcoming election.

I was born in Austin, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I moved to New York City and met the love of my life, Jason, after encountering him on the subway (he was helping a woman down the stairs with a stroller and two kids in tow). He became affectionately known as “Stroller Guy” by my family when we first started dating. We got married and moved out of the city to start a family. We have two rescue dogs and an amazing daughter, Charly, who is 3 years old.
Can you help Robin win this November with a donation to the DTC?
