Dr. Laura Main has been a Newtown resident for 25 years. She and her husband, Doug, have raised both of their now adult children, Douglas and Morgan, in town.
Dr. Main has been an educator for thirty years. She is a founding administrator of Booker T. Washington Academy in New Haven and currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer. She holds certificates as a school administrator and superintendent of schools.
She earned her doctorate in Instructional Leadership at Western Connecticut State University. She has a sixth year degree in education administration from Sacred Heart University, a master’s degree in early childhood and elementary education from Bank Street College and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
She is looking forward to using her skills to work hard on behalf of our beautiful town.
